Sustainable boost for tourism businesses

Designing tourism products for digital sales channels.

Goals

As part of the “Sustainable boost for tourism businesses: Southern Finland” project, one of the measures was to implement actions related to the development and design of new tourism products, as well as the exploration of target market information for tourism businesses in the Espoo, Helsinki, and Turku regions.

What was done

The following measures were implemented to support tourism businesses in their product development and the design of digitally purchasable product offerings:

  • Mapping of tourism offerings targeted at international travelers and available for purchase through various digital sales and distribution channels in Espoo, Helsinki, and Turku (OTA channels, regional marketing and sales channels, STF, DataHub, other distribution channels).
  • Market research for target markets in Germany and Sweden.
  • Digital product development for sales channels, including a company-specific process for 12 companies in Espoo/Helsinki and 28 companies in Turku.
  • Ensuring purchasability and installation of metrics.
  • Technical implementation of advertising campaigns in Google and social media advertising tools.
  • Optimization of advertising based on data.
  • Comprehensive reporting of results with development recommendations on a seasonal and annual basis.
  • Development of skills through mentoring and training sessions.
