The city of Kalajoki, in collaboration with the tourism network, is developing and managing the development of maritime tourism along the coastal area extending from Tornio to Vaasa. One of the development tools has been the Arctic Sea and Coastal Services Development Project. The main objective has been to promote the growth and global accessability of services related to the sea and the coast, utilizing the local strengths and natural elements of the Gulf of Bothnia coastal area.

As a result of the work, a concrete proposal and action plan were created for the data-driven management of the Arctic Coast destination area within the Arctic sea and coastal region. Additionally, the action plan included specific recommendations for monitoring, anticipating, and enhancing the development measures within the network of stakeholders and the coastal tourism ecosystem.
